Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and reliable Metal Shop Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in metal fabrication, carpentry, or architectural sign making, and must be comfortable working in a physically active environment. This position involves assisting in the fabrication of custom architectural signage and working on multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines.

Previous architectural sign making experience and/or carpentry experience with welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grinding.

• Welding.

• Cutting.

• Clean and organize materials, hand tools, and work area.

Working Conditions

• Combination of both indoor and outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.

• Requires walking or standing for extended periods of time.

• Follow all O.S.H.A. and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areas.

Skills/Experience Required

• Knowledge of basic hand tools.

• Read and understand shop drawings.

• Ability to be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs repeatedly. Position regularly requires employees to carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, each overhead, walk, and stand for extended period of time.

• Ability to work proactively, independently and in an environment with others.

• Good personal and communication skills.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime, as necessary.
